The Real Truth About Boring Men and the Women Who Live with Them

This is a very excelent article.  I just had to pass it on.

The Real Truth About Boring Men and the Women Who Live with Them

So not every guy proposes with lip syncing and rolling cameras and a choreographed entourage.
Yeah —  so what if  your Dad didn’t?
He just pulled that beat-up Volkswagon Rabbit of his over in front of Murray Reesor’s hundred acre farm right there where Grey Township meets Elma Township, pulled out a little red velvet box, and whispered it in the snowy dark: “Marry me?”

Before You Cry for War

Before You Cry for War

Before you cry for war consider if you will
The implications of the same
Consider the people that will suffer
The lives destroyed
Families torn apart
Nations ruined forever
Consider that the enemy, they are people too!

Before you cry for war, remember
Along with the fighting man
The civilian suffers too,
The mother and children, old and young
No, war affects everyone.

War is brutal, war spares none
Not the soldier
Not the mother and children
All suffer
Famine, death, destruction
It happens to everyone

Before you cry for War, Remember this!

Keep not company with railers....

Yesterday during our family Bible time this post was born.  I have pondered it for a while and now here it is.

But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
I Corinthians 5:11

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. I Corinthians 6:9-10

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.  I Peter 3:8-9

RA'ILER, n. One who scoffs, insults, censures or reproaches with opprobrious language.

OPPRO'BRIUM, n. [L. ob and probrum, disgrace.]
Reproach mingled with contempt or disdain.

OPPRO'BRIOUS, a. [See Opprobrium.]

1. Reproachful and contemptuous; scurrilous; as opprobrious language; opprobrious words or terms.

REVI'LER, n. One who reviles another; one who treats another with contemptuous language.

We can see it is pretty obvious that as Christians we have no business railing, not against each other, and not against un-believers. See Jude.  We are not to treat one another with contempt, or scoff at one another, and we are not to keep company or eat with those who do.  Keep this in mind folks, if you find yourself scoffing at or treating another with contempt, stop, and if your favorite preacher does it, you need to stop listening to him too.

Christian Porn

Christian porn?  Is there such a thing?  In a way yes, there is.  At least it is porn labeled as "Christian".  What on earth do I mean?  There is porn that is sanctioned by many churches and Christians, but before I go on, I want to warn you this will be a bit of a rant.  Why is it okay for a Christian film to depict Adam and Eve before the fall, nearly naked?  Why?  They were naked, before they sinned.  Afterward God covered them did he not?  Hey they even tried to cover themselves right?  Everybody knows they were naked, why do we need to show it?  God covered them that is a pretty direct statement that the human body should be covered I think.  Christians often say it is sin to look at porn, even so called "soft porn", but apparently when it is in Christian film and pictures it is okay?  What is wrong here?  Our movies are full of this "christian porn".  Take Soul Surfer for example to name one.  I have not seen this movie, but I have seen some pictures from it and....  the women are not wearing much more than underwear and the cameras are placed at angles that accentuate the immodesty.  There are others, too, where the dress standard is not too terrible, but the cameras are stuck at angles they should never be at.  Just look at the pictures.  Unfortunately, I have seen some porn, and it makes me angry when I see Christians copying it.  Take camera poses for another example, I have seen many Christians pose in ways that the porn stars do.  Yes just like them, folks those are not just "cool" ways to pose.  The porn industry uses them for a reason.  They have a product to sell, and they don't waste their time on stuff that doesn't work.
Okay, one last area.  Art.  Seems in art anything goes as long as it is painted, sculpted or drawn we can show anything right?  Classic art, it is just statues and paintings of naked people.  Face it folks it is porn.  Think of the famous statue of David.  How about the famous picture of Adam and God?  What about the various pictures and sculptures of other Bible characters or stories?  A lot of those pictures the people are either naked or, may as well be.  I once read a secular article on art, they lauded some of the "Christian" artists of the classical era for their "sensual" treatment of the human body.
Summery: I bring this subject up for several reasons, for one I am sick and tired of having to avert my eyes during Christian movies, I have seen secular films with much higher dress standards than a whole lot of Christian films. There are soo many Christian films that are excellent in message but I cannot ever show them to a non believer because what would he get out of it with the distraction of mixing sex in it, and what does it say about me?  I tell him that lust is adultery, then throw the temptation to lust right before him?  Next, as Christians we hold a double standard, it is disgusting, we say looking at porn is sin, then we turn around allow it in certain "christian" forms.  The non-believers love this, it is awesome ammo for them to throw at us.  Please think on this my friends

Stop blaming God

Stop blaming God for this mess down here. God created man with a free choice, and gave him this world, and man has made the mess you see, and on judgement day, men will be held accountable for what they did to the earth God entrusted to them. I am sick of people saying this mess is God's fault somehow. Own up folks, we did it and unless we repent of our sins and believe on Jesus Christ, we will pay the price of hell fire for it.

A Few Questions for My Readers

Hello folks, I have a few questions for y'all today.

If a fellow wears a dress why do we call it cross dressing?  I mean, girls wear pants and we don't call that cross dressing.  You say, well he is wearing girls' clothes and that is gross. Is he?  The dress was made for him, not for a girl, so he isn't cross dressing is he?  Then why is it wrong for him to wear it?  If I sewed up a dress for myself and wore it tomorrow, wouldn't you be shocked and disgusted?  Why should you be, I made the dress for myself, so therefore it is not women's clothes.  People often argue that girls can wear pants because the pants they wear are not actually mens pants, well then why can't guys wear dresses as long as they were not actually made for women?

While I am on the subject of pants, the Bible speaks of clothing as a covering, so, why is it okay for you to wear skin tight jeans?  That goes for girls and guys.  If you are wearing skin tight clothes, is that really a covering?  If you do wear skin tight clothes, why do you?  It cannot be comfort, loose is always more comfortable I think.  Search yourself on this, why do you dress the way you do?

That is all for now folks, please comment.

God Bless,

Flame of Jah

An Anti-Calvinist Rant

Warning: Below is a rant, bring steel toes, you may need them.

Any of you who have been reading my blog for a while know that I am an anti-Calvinist.  I am going to sum up my thoughts on Calvinist salvation below.

God created man in his image, as a sinner, then he doesn't like this sinner he created so he decides that he is going to judge this sinner for sinning, even though this sinner has no choice but to sin, (he was created that way remember,) this sinner is now condemned to an eternity in the flames of hell.  Okay, God made a whole world of sinners just like the first one, they are all condemned to hell for they all have sinned.  Then God chooses to save some of them from the judgment of hell.  These have all sinned just like the rest, they are just chosen now, so they are forgiven for the sins they were created to commit, and now they are special.  As for the rest of these sinners, they are doomed to hell.  They weren't chosen, so they get cooked.

I know that sounds a bit silly, I meant it that way, but seriously folks, that is Calvinist salvation.  God creates man without a free will, creates him to sin, condemns him to hell for his sin, then chooses to have mercy on some, but burn the rest.  Do you call that just?  First God creates men to sin.  They have no choice.  Then he is going to judge them for the sin he created them to commit?  That is totally unjust any way you look at it.  That totally flies in the face of the definition of just.  God is just, and that is unjust, so that is not true. Next, God decides that he won't judge some of the men, and will have mercy on them, even though they have sinned like the rest.  This doctrine makes God look insane.  If you paint a wall red, you cannot be mad at the wall for being red.  You made it that way.

God is just, God is true, and God is not insane...
He created man a free agent, told that free agent not to sin, that free agent disobeyed, God then judged that free agent for his sin, and also provided an atonement for his sin, the blood of Jesus Christ.  If you believe on Jesus Christ, that God raised him from the dead, and you confess with your mouth that he is Lord, you are saved.  Why does it need to be more complex?

P.S. For all of my Calvinist friends.
I don't mean any harm to any of you,
just please read and consider.

Come what may...

Come What May

This is a very well done movie, the acting is superb, the pace is really smooth, and the story just draws you in.  With that kind of intro you are probably expecting this to be a positive review, brace yourself, this is not.  With all of the positives of this movie, it has many serious, and minor errors which I wish to explore with you.

OK, we start with one of the most glaring things, a lot of talk about purity and standards, but, no practice.  First off, the girl, I forget her name, claims she is guarding her heart for marriage, then she chooses a guy to be her partner in school, she knows that she will be spending hours with this guy, alone, excuse me but is there something something wrong here?  How is this going to help her remain pure? Second, this guy is always pushing her standards, always trying to see what she will let him get away with and so on.  She is supposed to be remaining pure but she sleeps on the couch with the guy?  What?  Get real.  She speaks of not giving her heart away yet it is very obvious she has given it away to this guy.  OK, this is a really nice christian girl and she likes the guy's Mom who believes in the opposite of everything that this girl does.  The girl was claiming to be preparing to be a homemaker and wife yet she was training to be a lawyer, how will she ever have time for being a homemaker?  One last thing on the girl, she serves sugary junk to everyone she likes, she acts like she likes them, but you kind of start to wonder ;).

Now for the boy.  A perfect example of manhood, just the kind of guy I'd want my sister marrying...  He is not a leader, he has no conviction about much of anything.  He bends his beliefs to fit the situation.  He pushes the girls limits constantly, always testing her limits instead of respecting them.  To tell you the truth, in spite of him reading a Bible at the beginning, I didn't even know whether he was a Christian or not.

In the end the Mom becomes good, but never gets saved.  Very disappointing in a Christian movie.  You have an emotional experience and become good. What about salvation?  You do not get to heaven by becoming good and nice.  You must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.

The only real bright spot in the whole movie is the boy's father, a really nice guy, with firm enough convictions to lose his job over them, he really seemed to be saved, though it never said so.  That is one really hard thing with this movie, you get the impression it is a Christian film but really the script does little more than have references to praying, and occasionally someone is reading the Bible.  This is a Christian movie, where is the gospel message?  I don't think every Christian movie has to have a conversion scene or sermon in it, but you can still get the gospel message across in subtle ways, and for sure don't skip opportunities to throw a conversion scene in there like this movie does.

Well there you have it, my take on Come What May, if I missed something let me know.

Once saved, always saved?

Once you are saved, can you lose your salvation?  To put it shortly, yes, you can.  You can indeed be saved, then fall away.  You can lose your salvation.  In this post, I'll provide the proof from the pages of scripture, that yes you can lose your salvation....

Let us start with I Corinthians 9:26-27: "I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:  lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

Here Paul speaks of himself, the Apostle Paul being cast away possibly, if he does not keep his body in subjection.  More on this later, let us get on to another verse.

I Corinthians 5, Paul is speaking of a Christian that is in gross sin, and in verses 4 and 5 he tells what should be done to this person: "In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, to deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus."

Paul speaks of delivering this person to Satan so that their body gets destroyed, so their soul will still be saved.  Basically what I get from this is that this person will die prematurely so that perhaps it will prevent them from continuing in their sin and eventually denying Christ.

Now for some more verses:  Revelation 3:14-16, Jesus is speaking to the Laodicean Church:  "And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye-salve, that thou mayest see.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Behold, i stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."

This church is lukewarm, they are still Christians, and Christ is rebuking them and telling them to repent, yet, he is also telling them if they do not repent, he will do away with them.  In other words if they do not repent they will be damned.

A common thread we see here is that when a Christian sins and continues in sin, they will lose their salvation.
As you sin you grow further and further from Christ, then finally you deny him altogether.  I know this first hand, I've been there, when you sin enough and long enough, you will deny Christ, I did.  It is painful, but folks, it is true.  When you sin you become guilty, and if you do not repent, it will drive you further into sin, and away from Christ.

Starbucks

Seeing the company's stance on such issues as sodomy as well as almost always supporting the dems which we know almost always are pro murder (abortion), maybe Christians should find somewhere else to by coffee no?  Thoughts?

Do you believe?

That's way we read in 1 Corinthians 15, "moreover brethren I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain."  and that just means unless you just flippantly say, "oh yeah I believe." There have been many people have a preacher come to their door... knock on their door, "Uh, say this sinner's prayer."  "Ok, blah, blah, blah."  They don't mean it.

Listen folks, you know your heart, I don't, you know your mind, I don't, and no one else does, but if you have not been serious with God, and really believed the gospel, your are on your way to hell.
You have purposefully put a wall of separation between you and God. Because you have not taken this seriously. But if you will take it seriously, and really search your heart and say, "I believe, I believe this gospel."

What is the gospel?  Read verses three and four with me, here it is: "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" That's it. If you seriously before God, believe that he died for your sins, and paid the full price, he rose from the dead and conquered sin and death, and by that alone you have eternal life, the Bible says you are saved. But if not, then not. That's how simple it is.

You know religion stinks, because religion muddies the waters. Religion makes you think that church membership or having a title or something like that's going to help you, in dealing with your sin, let me tell you something, you sinned against God, not the religious people, not the institutions who are giving you all these false promises. You sinned against God and what He said matters, and if you sinned against God, he is infinite, your sin requires an infinite payment, that's why you can't work for it, you can work your entire life and do the best you can. and it's still finite. You can never do enough works to pay for the cost of sin and Jesus died on the cross, for an infinite payment, for your sin, and that's why he is your only hope.

Transcripted from a sermon by Greg Miller of Bible Believers Fellowship.

Please think on it folks, have you really believed?  Are you really saved?

Psalm 2

Why do the heathen rage, and
the people imagine a vain
thing?

The kings of the earth set
themselves, and the rulers take
counsel together, against the
Lord, and against his anointed,
saying,

Let us break their bands asunder,
and cast away their cords
from us.

He that sitteth in the heavens
shall laugh: the Lord shall have
them in derision.

Then shall he speak unto them
in his wrath, and vex them in his
sore displeasure.

Yet have I set my king upon
my holy hill of Zion.

I will declare the decree: the
Lord hath said unto me, Thou
art my Son; this day have I begotten
thee.

Ask of me, and I shall give
the the heation for thine inheritance,
and the uttermost parts of
the earth for thy possession.

Thou shalt break them with a
rod of iron; thou shalt dash them
in pieces like a potter's vessel.

Be wise now therefore, O ye
kings: be instructed, ye judges
of the earth.

Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.

Kiss the Son, lest he be
angry, and ye persih from the
way, when his wrath is kindled
but a little. Blessed are all they
that put their trust in him.

Psalm 2

No Matter What Happens....

God Wins.  As the world seems to fall apart around us it is easy to get frightened, mad men shooting children in schools, the Middle East is erupting, WWIII seems to be on the horizon, evil men are destroying our own dear countries to set up the New World Order.  We needn't fear, God Wins.  Even the NWO, they may set it up, maybe even kill some of us, but their Order will burn, and unless they repent, they will burn....  Though the whole world turn against us, we are stronger than they, for we have God on our side, and no matter how strong they are, he is stronger.  Never forget, they can only kill our bodies, and what of that?  The moment we die we are translated into glory, out of this life.  So my friends, forget the fears of this life and just look on Him who is above all, Jesus.  Keep your eyes on him, do not fear what man can do to you, Jesus promised that he would not lay on us more than we can bear, so, Press on.

In context John 3:14-20 Part 2

In verse 14 we saw clearly that you have to make a choice to believe on Christ, now for verse 15:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

If you believe on Christ, you have eternal life...

Verse 16:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Whosoever believeth in  him....  What does that mean to you?  What it says, or does it really mean a select group?  Whosoever, means just that, anybody.  Period.  You cannot change it, it is referring to anybody, not a select body.  You cannot find any limiters in this verse, it is speaking of all...

Verse 17:

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

So, is this verse speaking of two worlds, the first, all the non select people of the earth, the second a select group of people?  No.  One.  For, if that is true, those who do not believe on Christ are not condemned...  He is speaking of one world, of all men, therefore, all men can be saved, and according to the above verses, by simply believing on Christ...

Verse 18:

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Pretty self explanitory:  If you believe on Jesus you will not be condemned at the Judgment because he covered your sins...  If you do not believe on Jesus, you are condemned...

Verse 19:

And this the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

So, this again speaks of choice, men loved darkness, rejected the light, and therefore are condemned.

Verse 20:

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Again, choice.  You choose to hate.  Evil men do not want to stop sinning so they do not come to Christ...

For me, these verses along with many others in the Bible leave no room for the doctrine that somehow only a select few ever have a chance at salvation.

God Bless,

Flame of Jah

In context: John 3:14-20

In the discussion on Calvinism a few weeks ago John 3:15-20 came up.  I did not fully cover it, so I decided to give it a post on its own.  On rereading John 3, I realized, that in context verse 14 cannot be removed, it is the all important heading verse for the next six verses.  I am going to discuss it in detail in this post, then in another post I'll cover the other six.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: John 3:14

To fully understand this, we must now look at what Jesus is referencing here.  In the book of Numbers we read the story of the Israelites speaking against God and Moses, therefore God sent fiery serpents among them and many died of the bites.  God provided a cure, which just a small step of faith:

And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put upone a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.  Numbers 21:8-9

Whoever looked on the serpent of brass lived.  But in order to live you had to look on the serpent.  Some didn't, and they died.  Christ is saying that, he would be lifted up on the cross, and whosoever looked on him in faith, should be saved.  You have to make the choice to look on him, you have to put your faith in his saving power, if you do as in Numbers, you are saved, not from death of your body on this earth, but the eternal damnation of your soul.

Pressing on...

Press on, no matter how dark it might seem
No matter how bleak and hopeless
 Never give up
As long as you have breath fight on
 Don't give up
 Please don't give up

Even when it seems there is nothing left to live for
Even when all have forsaken you
Even when your health is shattered
Your earthly life is seemingly pointless and ruined
 Never give up

  Remember this
  When all friends are gone
When your life is at it's lowest
 Jesus is still there
He is faithful to the end
Even when there is nothing else to live for
You can still live for Him
Never ever give up the fight for life
 It can seem pointless
Even hopeless

Don't give up hope
 Fight on
You never know what Christ might use you for
In even the most terrible of straights
  My friends
 Hang on to life
 It is very precious
 Let Him call you home
Until then
Fight On!

God Bless,

Flame of Jah

Inspired by the story of Anne Frank.
I am often haunted by her story,
just weeks before her prison was
liberated she gave up on life. Her
Father was still living, but she did
not know, all she had to live for was
family, when they were gone, or
seemingly so, she had nothing.
Never forget my friends, we have
Christ.
